Leather Hound Collar sizing

Sighthound collars are perfect for breeds such as : Greyhounds, Lurchers, Whippets, Italian Greyhounds and Saluki's. 

The wide collar style protects their neck and throat from forceful pulling if they suddenly see a fast moving object.  This makes sure that they do not cut off their breath which could occur with a narrow collar. 

Many sighthound breeds have short and delicate coats that can get sore from friction with regular dog collars. Sighthound 'Fishtail' collars have the benefit of a wide surface area to spread out the pressure and prevent the hair and skin from damage. Absurd Collars can have natural wool felt sewn to the back of your sighthound collar for even more protection and comfort. 

1. GET YOUR TAPE MEASURE / OR STRING!

Measure your Sighthounds neck with extra room. Put two fingers underneath the tape measure, this will make sure it's not too tight. 

2. FIND YOUR MEASUREMENT IN THE SIZE GUIDE BELOW

Pick a collar size where the measurement number is in the middle of the size range. 

Small  Collar size : 9 - 11.5"  - 6 holes  1/2" Buckle  For Italian Greyhounds and small Whippets	Medium  Collar size : 11 - 13.5" - 6 holes  3/4" Buckle For Whippets and Greyhound Puppies
Large  Collar size : 13.5 - 16" - 6 holes    3/4" Buckle For Lurchers and Medium sized Greyhounds	Extra Large  Collar size : 16 - 18.5" - 6 holes 1" Buckle  For large Greyhounds
